Since 2007 to 2010 there has been a constant increase of activity rate and employment rate of disabled people of working age. In 2007 the activity rate of disabled people of working age was 22.6%, 23.9% in 2008, 24.6% in 2009 and 25.7% in 2010. According to the latest data, recounted on the basis of new balances of population after Population and Housing Census (Narodowy Spis Powszechny) in 2011 and based on a new methodology of Labour Force Survey in Poland (BAEL), the activity rate in Poland was 26.3% in 2011, 27.5% in 2012, 27.3% in 2013, while in 2016 it reached only 26,8%. 23.87% of disabled people of working age in Poland in 2016 were employed (22.4% in 2013, 23% in 2012, 22.2% in 2011, 21.8% in 2010). The unemployment rate of disabled people dropped to 11,6% in 2016 (17.9% in 2013, 16.2% in 2012, 15.5% in 2011, 15.3% in 2010).

16,3% of disabled people aged 16 and more were economically active in 2016. In the same year 14,6% of disabled people aged 15 and more were employed, whereas the unemployment rate within this group was 10,9%.

In the end of 2016 there were 259,334 disabled people registered in co-financing and reimbursement system (SODiR) conducted by the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled People (PFRON). There were 135,184 disabled people employed in the open labour market and 124,15 employed in the sheltered workshops.
